Dr. Larry Ritter


Dr. Ritter was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and grew up in nearby Hughesville. He attended the Pennsylvania State University majoring in Biology before beginning professional studies at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1972, and entered the US Army the following summer as an Optometry Officer, eventually obtaining the rank of Captain. Dr. Ritter spent two years with the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. 

Dr. Ritter is a member of Virginia Optometric Association, The College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) and the Optometric extension Program of which he is a former State and Regional Director. He is past Chairman of the Annual Northeast Congress of Optometry, a regional seminar under the auspices of the Optometric Extension Program. He is also a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Optometry.
